James Hunt will be serving as the Campus Minister/Pastoral Associate for the parishes of New Britain! He has spent the last four years of his life dedicated to ministering to college students and is looking forward to taking all that he has learned to serve this parish community and its college students.
He earned his bachelor's degree in English (creative writing focus) at Southern Connecticut State University, and even spent some time in graduate school pursuing a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary! His first love was reading and he planned to be an author when he got invited to a bible study on his campus. He very quickly discovered Christ's deep love for him and dedicated his life to Jesus. He spent the remainder of his undergrad career leading his school's protestant fellowship chapter.
It wasn't until several years later that he discovered the beauty of the Catholic church and made his way into full communion with the Church. It was this past Easter Vigil that he got conditionally baptized, confirmed and received his first Holy Communion! Although he is fairly new to the faith, his deepest desire is to continue to utilize all of the resources available to him in order to continue to grow as a witness of Christ’s charity to the New Britain Parish communities and beyond.
