Karyl Beloin DRE Faith Formation / Safe Environment Coordinator
Karyl was born and raised here in New Britain, and made all of her Sacraments at St Jerome Church. Karyl has had three very different careers in her adult life; 20 plus years as a police sergeant at CCSU, 11 years as the Lead Assistant to a Cataract Specialist, and currently as the Director of Faith Formation and Safe Environment, here at St Francis Catholic Parishes. As the Director of Religious Education (DRE), Karyl also teaches the Middle School children a Faith Formation Bible Study, something she enjoys doing very much. In June of 2022, Karyl graduated with 4 years of study and College credits from the Connecticut Biblical School of the Archdiocese of Hartford. Karyl enjoys attending Bible studies, volunteering at church, and taking Pilgrimage trips. In 2018 Karyl went on the Jeff Cavins 14 day Pilgrimage to The Holy Land along with 198 fellow Catholics from all over the world and says the trip enhanced her life in so many ways.
Karyl's other interests include volunteering for Dog Star Rescue as well as taking care of her own furry family of pets; 5 dogs, 3 cats, and 6 guinea pigs.
Karyl has 3 grown successful children. The twins are John, a Project Manager of a large Plumbing firm who is married and has a wonderful step daughter, and Rachael, an Oncology RN currently working and attending school for her Doctorate in Nursing. Karyl's youngest, Nicole, is a Medical Assistant for a large online medical company serving patients across the country. Nicole and husband Andrew have a beautiful little girl named Piper, that Nana just adores! Karyl will tell you her "heart sings" when she facetimes and visits the grandkids.
You can easily find Karyl on Sundays at St Joseph attending mass or Monday evenings teaching Middle School Faith Formation at St Francis.
